Alycia Baumgardner: Super Featherweight Champion

Alycia Baumgardner is a force to be reckoned with. She is the undisputed feather weight champion in boxing. She won this title on Feb. 5 2023. Alycia Baumgardner has always had the power and here's a little history on how she got this title. Her record is 14-1-0

Alycia has had the attitude for sports her whole life. She's also been surrounded by it. Her dad's family has always been a boxing family. Her cousin is Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde.

She began wrestling at the age of 5 in her hometown of Fremont Ohio. She was one of the only girls involved. She didn't see competing with the boys as a hindrance; she saw it as an asset. She felt confident that people saw this ability in her. She knew she could be just as good as they are. She quickly learned about boxing.

Baumgardner is first women signed to a promotional company. She doesn't want to be the only one. She wants a womens fight to be on every card in a show to get more eyes on women boxing. There are a lot of women who need that attention too. She says" it doesn't even have to be a lot of time. "

Baumgardner's attitude and work ethic is getting her so far in the boxing game. Baumgardner recently has training camp with fellow women boxer Cecilia Braekhaus. This only solidified her mindset on women in boxing and working together. It was a great outlet for her.

Her city and her family support her till the end. She works hard and remains unwaveringly disciplined. she trains twice a day, eats organic and tries to drink a gallon or two of water everyday. This is really a passion for Baumgardner, not just a fad or career. She wants to help other women and children gain a passion for healthy living. She also would love to help amateur boxing programs gain funding. Not having a lot of funds can be the hindrance to young boxers having their dreams. They need programs to practice and learn the necessary discipline and skills.

Alycia Baumgardner isn't named "The Bomb" for no reason. She is a great role model who represents for women in a male dominated field.
